A Conversation on Apartheid

Keeping with our South Africa thread.

For our readers in Southern California, a very important conversation will be taking place at the University of Southern California on Thursday, 12 January. Omar Barghouti, one of the organizers of the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel, will join legendary U.S.-based scholar-activists Angela Davis and Fred Moten to discuss the correlations between the divestment campaign against South Africa’s apartheid regime and the ongoing Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel.

Given the long history of South African and Palestinian collaboration against apartheid and occupation (in part inspired by the history of both nations aiding each other’s oppressive regimes), I am looking forward to reporting back on this event for AIAC. But for those able to attend, I look forward to ringing in the new year with an anti-apartheid allied strategy session.

Details.

  1. no states are ever the same so in my view south africa was south africa and israel was israel.israel was a state with not as many cultural or ethnic groups as south africa and when israel was formed south africa was never contacted nor was israel contacted when south africa was contacted!there`s also very little close relations between the afrikaners and the jews!
south africa was formulatd like a business than a dictatorship.it was more profit-orientated than power-obsessed.
diligent research was commissioned so as to produce a report that was to be the guiding document as to what kind of system it must be ruled under unlike most countries that are achieved through the barrel of a gun then turned into virtual dictatorships.even today blacks are saying it was better under apartheid than black rule and palestinians will say the same thing if israel fall under the rule of palestinians!

  2. WHY HAVE YOU LEFT OUT APARTHEID IN NORTH AMERICA (CANADA AND THE US)? EVERYWHERE EUROPEAN SETTLER COLONIAL TERRORIST WENT THEY SET UP APARTHEID PIRATE BRITISH COLONIES? JUST ASK THE NATIVE AMERICANS (SO-CALLED INDIANS) IN NORTH, CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA, THE BLACK “ABORIGINES” IN AUSTRALIA, HONG KONG (GIVEN BACK TO THE CHINESE) ETC. WHO ARE THE WORLDS LEADING TERRORIST??? JUST CHECK THE INDIAN BLACK “SLAVE” NARRATIVES OF MISSISSIPPI, ALBAMA, NEW YORK, CHICAGO, LA, IN SHORT EVERYWHERE??? Omari Tahrir (omariAfrinet@yahoo.com)

  3. Watch this video. It explains why Israel is NOT an apartheid state and why it cannot be compared to Africa.

  4. The link did not come through in my previous post. But you can find it on youtube by searching “dennis prager, is israel an apartheid?”
