The latest installment of comedian Kassem G’s “California On …” (remember his “California On Egypt” classic) asking passers-by what they know about Martin Luther King Jr. Part humorous, part annoying and part set-up, but also quite illuminating about American attitudes towards race, history and knowledge–on this day.

I always knew American’s were dumb…this just helps.
I was out in LA during 1997 Elections and polled individuals )of all ethnicities) as to who or what proposition they were voting for … and why. Most – half and hour before polls opened never had a foggiest. Most people (especially Southern Californians) should be disqualified from voting as they constantly prove themselves to being complete ignoramii …
Therefore, asking them about Martin Luther King Day is a moot point …
Hell, most of the US of A are completely in the dark as to who he really was and what he stood for. The same applies to “Black History” – unable to know or recognise the names of most activists … as well as Blues, Jazz, Soul, R&B music legends and artists … sigh …

Regina … If people remain complacent – uninvolved they get left out – railroaded over and forgotten. That’s how this country has gone downhill so fast – what with Barack doing the bidding of the bloody “white-controlled” Wall Street and other conglomerates. He feels it better to appease “the enemy” instead of confronting them …
FYI: I am widely known for attacking unpopular issues and bringing them to the fore – enlightening and helping people to see through the bullshit of American politics …
What’s this crap about this condescending Black History Month anyway … when it’s White History 365 days of every year … And still the whites complain about BHM and MLK Day …
Here in Washington, DC – you never see any black activism – marches and rally’s – yet the KKK was given free-reign to conduct a march in the Nation’s Capital – with police escort at the expense of the Taxpayers …
Capitalist hypocrisy really sucks and stiffs it to those left of centre or of any other shade than white …
This country needs the Cornell West’s and Tavis Sniley’s and Michaela angela Davis’s to keep the populace informed … and aware of what’s being pulled over their eyes …
