Great rethinking of ” Ishmael.” Love the way Jaar reimagines this piece as a loung-ey contrafact that captures the somber, worshipful mood of the original, and deploys refererences to Ibrahim’s crying, vocal soprano sax to great effect. This is definitely much more successful than Stefan Rogall’s frenetic, dance floor influenced remix in ‘Re: Brahim: Abdullah Ibrahim Remixed”.
