One of the human rights activists featuring in the 2009 documentary Cameroon: Coming Out of the Nkuta is Alice Nkom. The film sketches the daily struggle of young gays and lesbians in Cameroon. Nkom was in The Netherlands this week to talk about their fight.
For a longer talk by Nkom (in French), here she is speaking at conference late last year:

reminds you not to give up in this fight this liberation for queer rights. a brave & humble human rights activist in cameroon. alice nkom fights for criminalized queers in cameroon. that is fierce and i hope more people check out the film and support all the work that is taking place in the continent for queers to be free. africa is the future. thank you for this.
peace
Thanks for the post. Homphobia is alive and well in the Cameroonian expatriate community here in the USA. I am going to pass this along.
Unrelated: Y’all might wanna take a look at the Klaxon Institute and also this. Wish this were an April Fool’s stunt cuz I have no words, at all.
Ah, so there’s a back story,. Still an awful attempt at humor.
