Our friends at AfriPOP! recently sat down with The Very Best (you should know them by now) following their performance at this year’s Roots Picnic. They talked about all things music and Malawi, including Malawi’s annual Lake of Stars Festival at which The Very Best have performed every year for the past few years. Of the 2009 festival, Johan Karlberg (one-third of the trio) says, “We stayed in a bungalow last year with all these stars, rappers singers etc, they all came through and we did a remix of Julia, which is on a remix album, coming out in England.”
That remix, featuring UK rapper Sway, Malawian artists Tay Grin and Lucius Banda, and South African DJ Mo-Laudi, is above. I admit I’m a bit of a stan for The Very Best, but I dare you to deny this song’s awesomeness.
